My name is Kate and I'm almost seventeen. :D There's not much to say about me, though, so... sorry.


2. When did you first find that you had a knack for writing?

...wow, that's really something. I don't remember. I just always remember writing.



3. Do you prefer poetry or prose? Why? Do you like both?

I like some poetry, but you really have to do it right. -.- It's so easy to screw up. Prose is much nicer.



4. What is it you enjoy most about writing?

I dunno. Read and find out.
I can't explain it. I just randomly get hit with these great ideas and then I murder myself because I can't find a way to convey them to the public in a way that they will enjoy as much as I do. I write because I get cool ideas and I want to share them. No joke.



5. Do you enjoy roleplaying? If you do, do you use your favourite characters for it or make up new ones?

I used to be addicted, but I've calmed down a lot now. I'd make up characters and reuse the ones I made up.



6. When writing, do you think about the techniques you use and how they affect the reader, or simply write away?

A combination. Diction and sentence structure help get your point across, but if that's your main focus, then it turns out to be boring. Seriously, not to be conceited, but all that stuff is mainly just automatic in my head.



7. Do you feel bad when you write your characters in danger?

I know they'll get out of it. >D


8. Do you have any particular influences? Bands? Authors?

Movies and books help a looooooooot. ><; And songs. I can hear a song and come up with an entire plot line behind it. I kid you not. It sucks sometimes.


9. Have you ever joined in a collaboration with friends? If not/so, why?

Well, my friend and I roleplayed. All the time. I don't know if that counts as a collaboration.



10. Do you show your friends your work even if it is not complete? Or do you prefer for it to be finished before showing off?

If I need help, I'll show it before it's done, but I typically get insecure and fine-tune everything. ><

11. Who was the first character you came up with? Describe them to me!

XD A girl named Amethyst who had fire powers. She was, like, twelve and running from the government. -no i got no influence from firestarter shut up i hate you i was really young anyway-


12. Do you feel you know your character inside/out?

My favorite character? Oh, God, no. I don't know hardly anything about him.



13. What makes your favourite character angry?

He's really complicated. xx Um... People who try to show him up, people who try to psychoanalyze him, and guys who treat women badly. That's all I can name off the top of my head.



14. Do you think about why they are as they are or are they so just because you want them to be?

Kind of a combination. They are the way they are, but I like them that way. XD


15. What do you like most about this character?

Tarrick's really smart and introspective. :D



16. Does your character resemble you in any way?

Yeah, in some ways, I suppose. The only reason he's gay is because I'm straight. XD



17. Do you have any shamelessly Mary-Sue characters?

Yes. XD Several.
Dexter, Ophelia, Genevieve... lots.



18. Where did you get the inspiration for this character?

Merlin. A really young, hot Merlin.



19. Do you have any tips for wannabe writers about creating a believable good character?

Watch people. Watch how they act, watch how they talk, watch how they think about things. Then apply it. Make them interact with each other like REAL PEOPLE even though you may not want them to be acting the way they need to be acting. It's the best way to go.
